We are pleased to announce that Kurt A. James was named President of the Board of Directors for The Lawyers Clearinghouse on Affordable Housing and Homelessness, effective September 1, 2008.  This organization was founded in 1988 by the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association and grew out of a common belief that through a dedicated, broad-based program, the pro bono resources of the private bar could be used to fight homelessness.  They provide pro bono legal services to nonprofit organizations, groups seeking nonprofit status, and guests of homeless shelters in Greater Boston.  Kurt has been on the Board since 2001 and has been active as Vice President, chairing the Nominating Committee and the Legal Referral and Education Committee.  He is Chairman of our Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group and concentrates his practice in the area of real estate development and finance with a focus on affordable housing and community development.  Our congratulations to Kurt for all his time and effort he has devoted to The Lawyers Clearinghouse.
