New Director will Chair the Finance, Restructure and Workout Group

January 20, 2010 - Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster announced today that Francesco A. De Vito has joined the firm’s Real Estate Department, where he will chair the Finance, Restructure and Workout Group.  De Vito joins Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster from DLA Piper where he was a partner.

Michael O’Connell, the firm’s managing director, said “Frank is a very talented, high-energy lawyer with a proven record of successfully assisting his clients.  We are delighted that he has become a director in our firm and we welcome him to the team.”

De Vito focuses his practice on real estate and finance law, representing lenders, borrowers, developers, landlords and tenants in a broad range of commercial transactions.  He counsels financial institutions, other lenders and borrowers in all types of financing transactions, including loan restructurings, workouts and foreclosures.  He also has extensive experience in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, sale-leaseback transactions, commercial condominiums and zoning and permitting matters.

“Frank’s skills complement the firm’s breadth of experience by bringing to our team extensive knowledge in complex areas of real estate practice,” said Daniel Ossoff, chair of the firm’s real estate department.  “His strong relationships with national and local lenders and others in the real estate community will create additional opportunities to enhance our transactional practice.”

De Vito received a J.D. from Boston College Law School, where he was Supervising Editor of the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest, and a B.A. cum laude from Tufts University.  He is a former co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Real Estate Finance Committee and he is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board’s Government Affairs Committee.  He is a past member of the City of Newton Zoning Board of Appeals and is certified by the United States Green Building Council as a LEED Accredited Professional.
