Members of our firm have extensive experience representing sponsors, inventors and institutions in a wide variety of medical, health care, biotechnology and high technology issues.  We work with internationally renowned hospitals, private foundations, contract research organizations, technology companies and individual inventors.  Our lawyers advise them in connection with clinical trials (including multi-center studies) licensing and sponsored research agreements, various consulting arrangements and commercialization of diverse technology and medical devices.  Representative examples of our counsel include:

• Advising a Massachusetts Hospital Network and Harvard-teaching Hospitals in policy review and implementation, commercializing technology, licensing arrangements, clinical and sponsored research issues, and review of consulting agreements for professional staff.
• Helping a major Boston hospital in its joint venture with another major Boston hospital and an HMO to capitalize and operate an ambulatory surgery center.
• Representing a major Boston hospital system in connection with its technology transfer activites and the formation and financing of biomedical start-up companies;
• Service as counsel to a specialized medical device company in a merger with an international public company.
• Handling transactional issues for international biotechnology clients including financings (IPOs, private placements and off-balance sheet finance), merges, licensing and sublicensing issues, and general business and contract issues.
