Employee Benefits

Our firm has the capability to assist employers, plan administrators, and trustees with virtually any employee benefit and ERISA concern.  We help our clients sponsor and administer group retirement and welfare benefits, such as 401(k) savings plans, 125 cafeteria plans, group health and life insurance, and other fringe benefit programs, advising them on proper ERISA documentation, discrimination testing, employee communication, COBRA compliance review, and preparation for government audits.  In the complex area of executive compensation, we help clients design and administer special executive programs, such as SERP's, deferred compensation, "secular" and "rabbi" trusts, and split dollar life insurance.  Our specialized benefits services include:

  • Consultation to non-profit organizations for special issues related to early retirement programs, and group and fringe benefits, including Section 403(b) plans.
  • Representation of joint boards of multiemployer plans, for ERISA issues including structuring of investments in real estate entities.
  • Advice in special issues under Chapters 30A and B of the Massachusetts laws for employers which are governmental instrumentalities, and special representation of such entities.
