Practice Focus

Susan has been serving as the grants administrator at Rackemann since 1999, providing ongoing services to several of the private foundation clients and assisting individual donors to identify charities that match their interests and giving priorities.  She has extensive experience in the grantmaking process, which has included writing foundation policies and guidelines, performing due diligence on charities applying for grant funds, and making written and oral presentations to foundation trustees.

Rackemann's Private Foundation clients include the Thomas Thompson Trust, the Ogden Codman Trust and the John & Naomi Tomfohrde Foundation. 

Background

Before joining Rackemann, Susan worked as the Executive Director for various Housing Authorities on Boston’s North Shore.  She continues to be active in affordable housing issues in her role as Chairman of the Ipswich Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Susan has played an active role in raising money for the Ipswich Public Schools.  She is co-founder of the Ipswich Citizens for Education Fund and now serves on the Board of the Ipswich 21st Century Education Foundation.
