Lauren Galvin Quoted in Cape Cod Times
Rackemann litigation attorney Lauren Galvin was quoted in the Cape Cod Times article, “Judge Weighs Second Lawsuit Over D-Y School,” which addresses a lawsuit filed by Yarmouth residents Thomas Sullivan and Vida Morris against the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School Committee and the towns of Dennis and Yarmouth. The lawsuit is the second to contend that the D-Y School Committee did not have the authority to bypass town meeting action when it held a districtwide election last year to garner approval for a new $117 million middle school.
Lauren argued that the current lawsuit has continued to block work on the new school from progressing and is pushing the school’s price tag higher as area construction costs continue to rise: “The delay that this and the prior litigation has caused is costing money, and it is making the project more expensive. Every month that goes by, the cost goes up…It’s almost $400,000 per month.”
