Press Release: Rackemann Attorney Stacie A. Kosinski Elected to Board of Directors of Greater Boston Legal Services
Boston, MA, October 8, 2020 – Boston law firm Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster announces that attorney Stacie A. Kosinski has been elected to the Board of Directors of Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS). In this role, she will work to further advance GBLS’ mission to provide high-quality legal representation to low-income individuals and families in the Greater Boston area. Kosinski was elected for a three-year term at the GBLS Annual Meeting on September 16, 2020.
Kosinski said of her election, “I am honored to take part in an organization that played an integral role at the beginning of my professional career – long before law school – when I worked in refugee resettlement and with political asylum seekers from Haiti. It is gratifying to come full circle by joining the GBLS Board to help the most vulnerable citizens to protect their housing, incomes and safety.”
As a Director in the firm’s Litigation group, Kosinski focuses her practice on complex business, commercial, environmental, and real estate disputes. She regularly represents individuals, real estate developers and owners, and other businesses facing difficult claims in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts. In addition, Kosinski represents clients before City and Town Planning Boards and Zoning Board of Appeals.
Since its founding in 1900 as the Boston Legal Aid Society, GBLS’s mission has been to provide high-quality civil legal representation to low-income individuals and families in the Greater Boston area to help them meet their basic needs, and to advocate for systemic change to alleviate the conditions of poverty. Among other responsibilities, board members determine organizational goals and policies and oversee the overall financial management of the organization.
