Rackemann Attorney David Friedman Leads MCLE Seminar
Rackemann attorney David M. Friedman recently served as faculty for a Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) seminar entitled Accounting for Family Lawyers. David is an associate in the firm’s Family Law Department, and was chosen as faculty for this seminar on the basis of his extensive experience resolving the many financial issues that can arise when representing clients as a family law practitioner.
The seminar was geared towards attorneys who are new to the practice of family law. It was designed to give family law attorneys an introduction to the world of accounting in a non-technical way, and help them to understand various types of financial statements and tax returns relevant to a family law case. The course covered topics such as profit and loss statements, cash flow reports, and schedules, to help the practitioner know where to look to find hidden or unreported income, hidden assets, and improper expenses.
Printed materials from the seminar are available on the MCLE website here, and the entire seminar is available for purchase from the MCLE in an audio CD format.
