Rackemann Managing Director Francesco A. De Vito Appointed Council Member of the Boston Bar Association
Boston, MA, August 29, 2019 – Boston law firm Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster announces that managing director Francesco A. De Vito has been appointed a Member of the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) Council. The Council sets the BBA’s policy, makes major financial decisions, and provides crucial oversight on behalf of the members. De Vito’s term will begin on September 1, 2019 and will last three years.
The BBA is the hub of the legal profession in Boston. It is the Commonwealth’s premier legal institution, bringing together the brightest and most influential people to lead at the forefront of the profession. The BBA’s mission is to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, foster a diverse and inclusive professional community, and serve the community at large.
As of September, the BBA will be governed by a Council of 14 members along with 29 sections and more than 100 committees dedicated to substantive areas of law, as well as issues such as delivery of legal services and diversity and inclusion.
De Vito chairs the firm’s Finance and Workout Practice Group and is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Department and Executive Committee. He is Co-Chair of the BBA’s Real Estate Section and previously served as Co-Chair of the Section’s Real Estate Finance Committee. For over 20 years, he has been a trusted advisor to lenders, borrowers, developers, landlords and tenants in a broad range of commercial transactions.
